Roko Technical Services, Comtel Integrators Africa and MTN Uganda emerged winners in the recently concluded Aitec Uganda 2006 Information Communication Technology exhibition awards for the best stand.

Roko come first, Comtel second and MTN rounded up at third position out of 28 companies that participated in the two-day exhibition at the Sheraton Kampala Hotel that ended on July 13.

ICT Minister Ham Mukasa Mulira said the awards were based on a company's customer care skills and its staff management.
Mulira said the ministry has a challenge in creating awareness of what ICT is, of creating tools and frame works that people use but the exhibitors are doing a great job in creating awareness of how ICT can be used to enhance people' s work, education, health, entertainment and other aspects of our lives.

"My ministry is concerned that the government listening to and sensitive to the needs of its people in the area of ICT and how the technologies can improve the quality of life of our people," he said.
